Aisha Tahir graduated from the University of Minnesota in 2020 with a major in Accounting and minors in Business Law and Asian & Middle Eastern Studies. As a student, she was an involved member of the university community, serving as president of the campus UNICEF chapter, treasurer of the Al-Madinah Cultural Center, and member of the Muslim Student Association’s Dawah Crew. She now works as a consultant for Deloitte. Aisha is honored to serve on the DSCG Advisory Board and looks forward to seeing the organization’s mission in action.
Sabah Khatoon is an Optometrist who graduated from the University of Minnesota and Illinois College of Optometry where she held leadership positions with organizations that gave back to the community.
Ahmed Idris originally from Eritrea, is passionate about serving his local immigrant youth and family communities. His career interests vary in public health, education, programming, and reducing health disparities. He currently works as a Program Assistant at Wellshare International, as well as a Public Health Specialist for the Minnesota Department of Health.
MOHAMMED HANIF BAGHA
My name is Mohammed Hanif Bagha and I graduated from the University of Minnesota with a bachelors in Communication Studies and a minor in Business Management. I have been working with Cigna Behavioral Health for the past 9 years.
I have been involved with different Islamic and non profit organizations; Pioneers Academy, At Tawasul, and Pearls of Hope to name a few. I enjoy working with the youth and teaching Qur’an and Islamic studies.
Sidra Islam, a junior at the University of Minnesota, is studying psychology and family social sciences. She is passionate about helping others and making a difference in the community, where she hopes to cultivate positive change and give back to the community.
Suheila Musani graduated from the University of Minnesota’s Carlson School of Management with a Bachelor of Science in Business in 2016. She currently works as an Accounting Consultant at UnitedHealth Group.
Passionate about youth empowerment within the community, She began her journey in the area through her internship at CAIR-MN, where she had the opportunity to organize the 1st-ever Muslim Youth Leadership Symposium in the state. As a college student she was involved with organizations such as the Muslim Students Association and the Al-Madinah Cultural Center. She is also a co-founder of the ICM Youth group under the umbrella of the Islamic Center of Minnesota. Suheila joined DSCG with hopes of continuing to contribute to society, while helping to advance areas of opportunities that are present within the community.
Maher Mahmood graduated from the University of Minnesota Law School where she held several leadership roles during law school, including two years as a Student Director, a member of the University of Minnesota Diversity Committee, and led various events as the President of the Muslim Law Student Association. She is also involved with local community organizations such as CAIR-MN, RISE, IRG, and ETCIC. Currently, Maher works as a Prosecutor for the Hennepin County Attorney's Office.
Khadijah Malik, a junior at the University of Minnesota, is working towards her major in Microbiology and minor in Psychology. She enjoys reading, hiking, and traveling.
My name is Uzair Qureshi and I am currently a fourth year undergraduate student at the University of Minnesota-Twin Cities graduating with a bachelors of science in Kinesiology in Fall 2021 inshallah. I hope to further my education into graduate school where I hope to pursue medicine and attain a doctoral degree with emphasis on Psychiatry, mainly working with athletes. I’ve been a continuing member of Al-Madina Cultural Center and am also planning on joining a council of undergraduate pre-med students this fall called Multipotentialites in Medicine founded by AMCC members Muhab Abdelwahab and Ali Mashadi
Outside of school, I love to do photography (fun fact: my picture is a photo my client captured of me when I was doing a photoshoot of them), play and write music, cook, lift weights, run, play spikeball and basketball with friends, and box. Looking forward to the big things this organization has planned inshallah!
Sarah Siddiqui is currently teaching Third Grade at Al-Amal School. She graduated from the University of St. Thomas with a degree in Elementary Education and a K-6 teaching license. During her time there she was involved in the Muslim Student Association as a board member and in the Campus Ministry as the Interfaith Co-Programmer. Along with her activities in undergrad, she has been involved with IRG as a speaker, was a board member of ICM Youth, and volunteers with RISE and other organizations. She is excited to serve on the Advisory Board and is looking forward to serve the community.
Suad is a graduate from Saint Mary's University, where she received her Master of Arts in
Counseling Psychology. She also holds a bachelors in Child Psychology from the University of
Minnesota. Suad currently works at Hennepin County as a Child Protection social worker. Her
previous employment included Target case manager at Mental Health Resources (MHR),Mental
Health practitioner at an autism center, Mental Health Counselor at a group home, and ARMHS
Suad is licensed through the state of Minnesota as a License Professional Clinical Counselor
(LPCC). This license gives her the ability to work as an independent therapist. Her goal and
mission is to reduce the stigma associated with mental illness, and to foster hope in individuals
